For Too Long

I have thought over the last week about all that is happening in our country. I find myself sad and angry at the same time. having been a student of History and political Science, I learned that when our four fathers wrote our declaration and stood in defiance for Independence, they were not doing it solely to start a new nation. They did this in order to tray an preserve freedom. They did not believe that it was the governments right nor responsibility to provide everything for it's citizens. They believed simply that the government was there to insure the chance . The chance to take a risk on having a family. The chance to start up a new business or serve a God of your choosing. A chance to live life without government distraction or involvement.
I believe that if any one of them was alive today to see the state that we are in they would declare REVOLUTION again!! They would yell tyranny! no where in the constitution or the bill of rights does it say that we are gaurenteed health care. It does not state that if we over extend ourselves that the government must step in and bail us out. It simply say that we have the right to make out of life what we can. That may be a stretch for some. It may go against the mind set that we are to rely on the government to house us and feed us.
When senators and reprensatives first began service, it was simply that, serve to the people. Every one took their turn and when their term was up they went back to their farms or businesses to allow someone else to accept their resposiblity of service. It was never intended to be a career!!! It was never supose to be a way to make your first million and yet here we are. having one of the most outragoues deficates in history and our representaives and senators making money hand over fist while we struggle to deal with the laws and "help" they vote on for us. I don't know about antone else, but sometimes I think that we should simply start all over agian and try not to screw it up!
